Hagley Oval Pavilion
The new Hagley Oval Pavilion was the first of the Christchurch anchor projects to be completed. Cosgroves Ltd was the Building Services Engineers for the Hagley Oval Pavilion Project including Mechanical, Hydraulic, Electrical and Fire Engineering Design which had to be carefully integrated with the building structure.
The design needed to consider tight programme targets, project budgets, and compliance challenges given the “Fabric tent” design. With some ICC Cricket World Cup games being held at the Hagley Oval Pavilion it was critical that the facility was completed well ahead of the tournament to test functionality and ensure minimal risk of disruption during cricket events.
Innovation was provided with the fire design with regards to the type of detection systems, with all services designed to not encroach on the ceiling surfaces. The facility has proven to be very successful and has developed an iconic look for Christchurch.
