This 200 apartment development has been designed to provide residents with a comfortable and modern living environment in a park-like setting. Cosgroves worked with the QS, client, and architect to ensure it fit within the allocated budget. Close collaboration with the client and project team was essential to ensure we understood the project staging and to tailor our services designs to suit. We ensured the site infrastructure allowed for growth to serve future stages as efficiently as possible while minimising disruption to completed stages.
The development consists of offices, meeting rooms, retail outlets, café, full commercial kitchen, communal halls, lounges, and a cinema. The main facility was completed in 2016 and comprises of a new 80 bed two level Rest Home/Hospital wing, Service Wing, and Market Place. We designed advanced communication infrastructure which enabled data, telephones, CCTV, call assistance and MATV services to operate over a common fibre backbone. We worked proactively during the construction phase to ensure we could identify and resolve any issues that arose especially within the passive fire and fire protection design sphere.
A ‘Resort Style’ Retirement Village, comprising of a multi-level main Village Centre surrounded by a multi-level apartment block providing mixed accommodation, including Dementia Care, Assisted Living Suites, Care Suites, plus 1, 2 & 3 Bed Apartments. We worked closely with the Ryman Development team at all design stages and throughout Construction and completion/sign off. We designed the services for multiple buildings over a single site which allowed consideration for site reticulation and location of ventilation outlets.
The Queenstown Country Club is at the forefront of a shift in Aged Care facilities towards providing independent living, enabling retirees to continue to live an active lifestyle with the level of support they need. The development includes three-level care and serviced apartments, rest-home, and dementia care. Within the building are a gym, café, and communal lounges. We integrated efficient climate control systems into all living spaces, enabling them to maintain a comfortable temperature throughout both winter and summer. The fire team worked with the project Architect and Winstone Wallboards (GIB) to develop a bespoke fire engineering strategy that accounted for the unique fire engineering characteristics of mass timber structure.
